Due to the expansion of our activities, we are looking for a Duty Manager.

What will you do?

As Duty Manager, you are fully responsible during your shift for the safe, efficient and timely handling of import and export cargo. You keep overview of the operation, lead the team on the floor and make sure everything runs according to plan. You are visible in the operation, switch quickly and take decisions when the situation requires it.

You coordinate daily warehouse activities and monitor the progress of import, export and possible transit processes. You work closely with internal departments such as planning, airside operations and security, as well as with external parties like airlines, freight forwarders and customs. When disruptions occur or plans change, you step in immediately and find solutions without compromising safety or quality.

You are also responsible for staffing, supervising and coaching the team during your shift. You ensure proper workforce coverage, guide employees on the floor and make sure work instructions, working hours, rest times and safety rules are followed. You train and support new employees towards all round deployability and create calm and clarity, even during peak moments.

Safety and quality are always top priorities. You ensure correct use of equipment, compliance with procedures and regulations and address employees on behaviour and performance. You handle proper shift handovers and register incidents, irregularities and results. With your operational experience, you actively contribute to improving processes, cooperation and performance.

What do we ask from you?

• You have MBO level 4 or HBO working and thinking level;
• Proven experience in a supervisory role within logistics or air cargo;
• Knowledge of logistics and administrative handling processes;
• Strong operational insight and decision making skills;
• You work with a strong focus on safety and quality;
• Good communication skills;
• You have a good command of both Dutch and English.
