The Duty Manager (DM) is in charge of the shift and is responsible for implementing all security procedures in the cargo warehouse during duty hours. Key responsibilities include:
• Allocating duties to security staff based on their competencies.
• Maintaining the Station Diary with records of important events, including handing over/taking over of charge.
• Countersigning registers and relevant documents maintained at each post.
• Authorizing visitor and vehicle entry upon receipt of requests (by letter or e-mail) after proper assessment.
• Issuing passes for one day or up to three days on weekends or public holidays.
• Maintaining the leave record calendar and sanctioning leave, ensuring that no more than three staff are on leave on any given day.
• Approving overtime when required, with proper justification.
• Attending to conflicts, security breaches, or untoward incidents during the shift; escalating unresolved issues to the Manager – Security / Head of Security with a written report.
• Conducting incident investigations as instructed by the Head of Security and submitting reports accordingly.
• Ensuring serviceability, maintenance, and upkeep of all security equipment, including communication devices.
• Monitoring availability of security stickers and seals, maintaining records, and coordinating with Admin for replenishment.
• Handling emergencies, including acts of unlawful interference, in coordination with appropriate agencies.
• Taking at least three foot rounds of all posts and conducting one floor-check exercise per shift, recording the same in the Station Diary.
• Inspecting staff during fall-in parade for proper uniform and grooming. (Security T-shirts permitted only on weekends.)
• Promptly reporting important incidents or occurrences (beyond routine matters) to the Manager – Security / Head of Security.
• Carrying out any other duties assigned by the Manager – Security / Head of Security.
• Conducting weekly register checks and maintaining/countersigning them.
• Ensuring strict adherence to Monday register checks conducted by the Manager – Security / Head of Security.
• Conducting daily briefing/debriefing sessions; in case of alerts or memorandums, ensuring all staff complete a “Read & Sign” acknowledgement to be filed accordingly.
• Cascading operational information to the frontline personnel for acknowledgement and implementation
Required Qualification:
• Education – Minimum Degree. Basic AVSEC and Screener qualified
• Experience – 8 years and above on Job
• Age – Above 18 and Below 45. If above 45 then medical certificate in mandatory
