Job Purpose

Direct, manage and develop the human resources function for WFS Belgium as well as the relations with the trade unions to:

  • ensure the company continuously has sufficient and qualified people, at reasonable costs, to realize short- and long-term company objectives
  • develop and optimize the company’s people resources to ensure that related targets (such as effectiveness, development levels, social climate, quality of work environment) are achieved
  • ensure the company is compliant with all people related rules, regulations and (social) laws
  • ensure the effective implementation and monitoring key HR processes in line with SATS group processes, such as career development, performance management, recruitment and reward
  • ensure to initiate and take an active role in the design, development, recommendation, communication, implementation and audit of sound HR plans and programs. 

Key Accountabilities

  1. Promote an environment in which employees are motivated to high levels of work performance.
  2. In close cooperation with the General Managers and line Managers, develop a human resources strategy which supports the short- and long-term business objectives of WFS Belgium/NL – and ensure its implementation by setting up and monitoring HR processes and procedures.
  3. Manage, coordinate and co-execute the recruitment function to bring in and engage sufficient qualified people. Determine and use the most optimal recruitment channels and campaigns.
  4. Set up and manage an efficient remuneration administration function to ensure salaries are paid correctly and on time. Monitor the payroll company and ensure all remuneration related social laws are correctly applied.
  5. In cooperation with line managers, analyse training needs and manage a wide variety of training related activities. Ensure people are qualified for the roll they must fulfil.
  6. In cooperation with line managers, build and implement career development plans, encourage internal mobility and/or encourage a people coaching framework to ensure people have the possibility to grow within the company.
  7. Manage the relations with trade unions. Co-manage and monitors the activities of the Works Council and the Health and Safety Council.
  8. Stay continuously up to date on all HR related matters (Compensation and Benefits, Social law, recruitment methods, Absenteeism, performance management…) and advise management on those matters. Help optimizing people costs.
  9. Keep an open ear for what’s going on amongst WFS employees; listen to people grievances and concerns and look for / propose answers and solutions.
  10. At all times guards the social climate in the company and propose and/or initiate actions to help optimize the social climate and overall people motivation levels. Contribute to ensure high retention levels.
  11. Initiate, manage and/or participate in a wide variety of HR related projects.
  12. Represent the company in a variety of external HR related councils. Defend the companies interests and act as ambassador for the company mainly from an employer branding perspective.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree, preferably in human interest matters, or equivalent through experience)
