Main job objective
As a Level 2 Prevention Advisor, you will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and improving occupational risk prevention actions within our company in collaboration with the level 1 Prevention advisor. You will play a key role in managing safety and ensuring the creation of a secure work environment that complies with current regulations and with the requirements of the company.
Job responsibilities
Administration:
Administrative tasks within HSSE team
Compliance
- Assist the level 1 Prevention Advisor with regulatory compliance with all applicable safety regulation
- Assist in the preparation and participate in internal and external HSSE audits, as well as in risk analysis.
- Reporting, investigation, analysis and follow-up of all safety related incidents & accidents & actions at WFS in collaboration with the level 1 Prevention Advisor.
- Prepare and organize evacuation drills
- Ensure the follow-up of prevention actions and verify the compliance of equipment, installations, and practices with safety standards.
- Ensure continuous regulatory monitoring and update safety procedures based on legislative changes and the company’s specific needs.
- Write regular reports on the state of safety, propose corrective actions, and continuous improvements.
- Define, develop, keep updated and implement (new) procedures cfr the legislation
- Manage medical visits
- Conduct workstation risk analyses in collaboration with the Level 1 Prevention Advisor.
- Manage first aid kits and first aid report forms
- Perform & register weekly inspections and other safety related inspections in WFS reporting system
- Conducts annual site opening with the third parties/subcontractors
- Manage the fire permits for the third parties/subcontractors
Safety Management System
- Collaborate on the development of the internal emergency and evacuation plan.
- Follow up on accidents/incidents with the insurance and in the Management System (Pulse).
- Ensure the effectiveness of Health and Safety promotion.
- Improve "Just Culture" together with the HSSE team
Training and education
- Participate to the development and implementation of educational campaigns, initiatives, and tools to ensure stakeholders understand and comply with various requirements (e.g., safe working practices, use of equipment, safe handling techniques, aviation safety, etc.).
- Deliver training related to safety and onboarding
- Raise awareness among all staff, subcontractors and customers about the importance of workplace safety
Qualifications/Skills/experience required
- Fluent in Dutch and French, good knowledge of English
- In depth knowledge of Risk assessment methodology, incident/accident investigation, root cause analysis and conducting inspections
- Proven experience in defining, developing and implementing procedures
- Experienced in giving trainings and presentations, with successful and visible results
- Good analytical skills
- Good Team worker
- Given proof of strong leadership skills combined with positive assertiveness
- Multi-tasking ability
- Good written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels
- Good presentation and interpersonal skills
- Strong ICT- and MS-Office skills
- Certification in Health & Safety: Level 2 Prevention Advisor
- Solid safety knowledge, motivational and inspiring (safety) competencies
