As our operations continue to expand, we are looking for the right person to join our team in the role of Special Cargo Agent.
What will you do?
As a Special Cargo Agent, you are responsible for the correct and safe handling of all forms of special cargo. This includes, among others, dangerous goods (DG), live animals and pharmaceutical shipments.
You have knowledge of the acceptance and handling procedures for special cargo and ensure that all activities fully comply with Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate and International Air Transport Association Dangerous Goods regulations. You are the specialist who ensures that these specific cargo flows are handled safely, accurately and in accordance with all regulations.
You perform acceptance checks and re-checks on special cargo according to the applicable IATA regulations and verify shipments for packaging, labels, documentation and the condition of the cargo. If a shipment does not meet the requirements, you will stop the shipment and ensure that errors or irregularities are resolved by coordinating with external and internal stakeholders. For rejected or irregular shipments, you prepare an incident report. Once everything is correct, you release the shipment for further handling.
In addition, you monitor the correct use of storage locations for special cargo, support colleagues in the warehouse and cargo office, and ensure proper documentation and reporting. You liaise with authorities when necessary and remain vigilant regarding safety, quality and compliance with procedures.
You are available to work in our morning, afternoon and night shifts.
What do you bring?
- MBO level 3 working and thinking level
- Experience in a cargo office or logistics environment
- At least 1 year of experience with special cargo
- Experience with dangerous goods, pharmaceuticals and/or live animals according to IATA regulations
- You work accurately and are able to perform well under pressure
What do we offer?
- A salary between €2,950 and €3,988
- In addition, you receive allowances for evening, night and weekend shifts. Based on a standard roster you can earn on average 22% irregular hours allowance (ORT) on top of your salary
